Allotments

Amongst the 'green' spaces within the village over and above those providing for sport and general recreation, there are others serving specific purposes but which are still wildlife friendly. This includes the allotments.

The Parish Council operates 6 allotment plots on Chapel Lane, near the centre of the village, and charges a small annual rent of £10. The allotments are all taken at present and there is a waiting list.

Allotment holders are required to keep their allocated allotment clean and tidy, in good condition and properly cultivated with fruit and vegetables for personal consumption. There is no piped water on site, but there are plenty of water butts which are shared amongst the holders.

The nearby local school, Sale and Davy's C OF E Primary, rents one of the plots which enables the children to experience planting and harvesting produce as part of their curriculum studies.
